The YForest Creative Process

The purpose of a creative process is to provide your organization with a continuous flow of ideas that leads to measurable growth.

Here are the three overlapping phases on Design Thinking:

YForest has also added individual and team consultation into these processes to produce a unique process.

Part 1: Inspiration

This is where the process begins and why shouldn't it, with individual idea inspiration consulting.

Methods:

1) The Core Value Index free test to see where a person can best be inspired for ideas by identifying their Contribution Type. There are unique strategies for finding inspiration for ideas based on these results.

2) Writing - Keeping an Idea journal for a designated amount of time. This is free-form writing and/or a recording of ideas obtained through other methods. Julia Cameron recommends writing three pages every morning, she calls this "morning pages".

3) Reading - YForest will recommend applicable book recommendations for inspiration

Seth Godin just wrote an amazing book on the practice of shipping creative work. Creativity isn't just about brainstorming, but also about executing daily.

4) Listening: YForest will recommend applicable podcasts and audible choices

5) Working out or Walking - This is a great time to let your mind wonder and come up with new ideas.

6) Fasting - This is a great way to focus your mind and has been used for centuries and will definitely inspire creativity. YForest can recommend the best method for each individual to inspire creativity.

7) Date Yourself - Participating in an activity that you love will inspire creativity. Golf, going to a movie, getting coffee, anything can work as long as it is on your own.

8) Meditation, Hypnosis, Prayer - The Sound of Silence is a powerful force that we have a difficult time experiencing in today's world. Spending time in silence and relaxation will bring you new ideas.

9) The Mozart Effect - This book was written on the theory that listening to Mozart will make you smarter. This is a controversial claim but worth trying for creativity.

10) Talking and Listening - Some people think out loud and this can be a great way to connect with people to talk and listen outside of your organization for ideation.

11) Giving - Determine the Who, What, Why, Where, When, and How of Giving to inspire creativity.
